Arab American Demographics
According to US Census 2000 figures, there are approximately 3.5+ million Arab Americans living in the United States. The Arab American Institute estimates that there are about 4 million Arab Americans. Two thirds of Arab Americans speak fluent English.
Nearly 50% of the Arab-American population resides in California, Michigan, New York, Florida and New Jersey. Illinois, Texas, Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania also have significant Arab American communities.
Income
The median income for Arab American households in 1999 was $47,000 compared with $42,000 for all households in the US. Close to 30 of Americans of Arab heritage have an annual household income of more than $75,000, while 22% of all Americans reported the same level of income.

Education
85% of Arab Americans hold a High School diploma and more than 4 out of 10 Arab Americans have a bachelor’s degree or higher (compared to 24% of Americans at large). 17% of Arab Americans have a graduate degree, nearly twice the US average of 9%.
